National Mini Medical School - Tampa, Florida (March 5 2009)

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine partnered with the Tampa Bay Iowa Club to bring a Mini Medical School program to Tampa, Florida. A Hawkeye Happy Hour was held with the Tampa Bay Iowa Club prior to the program on March 5, 2009 at the Quorum Hotel.

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine presented a statewide Mini Medical School program on cardiovascular disease at the Univiersity of Northern Iowa Campus on February 18, 2009 featuring Dr. James Rossen.

National Mini Medical School - Arizona (Feb 12 2009)

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine hosted a Mini Medical School program featuring Drs. Joseph and Kathleen Buckwalter. The program was held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Chaparral Suites Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mini Med Juvenile Diabetes (Dec 6 2008)

Photos taken on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Junior Mini Medical School program. Forty-nine students from Kindergarten - 12th Grade participated in the program held at the Nursing Clinical Education Center in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The UI Carver College of Medicine partnered with the UI College of Nursing and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to present the program which also included a program for adults intersted in learning more about juvenile diabetes.

Prairie Valley H.S. Medicine Tour

Seven students from Prairie Valley High School in Gowrie, Iowa visited University of Iowa Health Care on October 22, 2008. These students learned about medical school, participated in a performance-based assessment (with patient actors) and expereinced the Emergency Simulation Center. Eight of their classmates also experienced a day in Nursing at IOWA.
